TWO DAY WORKSHOP ON LEARNING AID

Two day workshop on learning aid was organized on 01/02/2023 and 02/02/2023.The first session started at 10 AM in the General Hall 2 of GCTE. Ms.Keerthana SS compered the event. It began with the rendition of a prayer song by me. Dr. Jayakrishna K , staff secretary and Assistant Professor in Hindi, delivered the welcome speech, followed by presidential address by the principal of GCTE , Dr. VK Santhosh Kumar. Dr.Joly , vice principal of GCTE , rendered the felicitation. Mr. Praveen Kumar, College Union Chairman, pronounced the vote of thanks.

Sri. Raman P. was the resource person. Prior to the starting of the session, he inspired us with the display of the exceptional still models and working models prepared by him and which earned him many awards at the national level

The second session of teaching aid preparation started at 10 AM on 02/01/2023. The last session was all about chart writing and today models were introduced .It was a great experience.

Students may find it boring listening to long lectures, and there are more possibilities for them to get distracted. However, incorporating the right teaching aid ideas will make your students more interested in paying attention. There are different types of teaching aids that suit different teaching methods. By implementing the appropriate teaching strategy, teachers can help their students to observe most of their textbook concepts. Teaching aids facilitate the learning of students in various ways. Teachers use different teaching aids to make their students listen attentively and interestingly. The traditional teaching aids involve the usage of blackboards, posters, globes, charts, textbooks, etc. However, as technology grows, teaching aids have also improved a lot, and today’s teaching aids are classified into audio aids, visual aids, mechanical teaching aids, audio-visual aids, and more. 

It was really a worthy class. By knowing some of the techniques of teaching aid we got surprised. This made some ideas in our mind to generate useful teaching aids. Although it takes more time to make these teaching aids, students can understand the concepts very well. So these teaching aids are very effective method. The workshop provides a hands on experience for the students. So everyone was involved in the teaching aid preparation with utmost sincerity.Teaching aids can even make difficult subjects look easier.Students are first introduced to the basic principles of learning aid such as the importance of visuals, readability and how express a consistent message with the help of these aids. It helped to unveil the creativity in each student. We are impressed by the dedication and helping mentality of the resource person. He shared some simple techniques of making models which can be seen only in exhibitions. The workshop provided an opportunity for students to evoke their creativity. Something different from the ppt which are used commonly today may create interest among students.I like most is the resource person's dedication and helping mentality.He shared some simple techniques of making models which can be seen only in good exhibitions.
