WORLD AIDS DAY PROGRAMME - December 1, 2022

World AIDS Day, designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease. The acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The HIV virus attacks the immune system of the patient and reduces its resistance to other diseases. Government and health officials, non-governmental organizations, and individuals around the world observe the day, often with education on AIDS prevention and control
Government College of Teacher Education, Biostar Natural Science Association and IQAC organized World Aids Day Programme on December 1, 2022 at UGC Hall. The program began with the prayer by Gowri. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Rajashree K, and Dr. V K Santhosh Kumar Sir, the Principal of GCTE, he offered the presidential address. Rakesh Mohan recited a pledge that affirms our solidarity with the victims of AIDS worldwide;  Felicitations were later addressed by Dr. Joly S, the Vice Principal of GCTE, and Shri. Roshkumar Sir, Assistant Professor of Physical Education Department. Ms. Subathira S, Skill Lab Trainer from Training Institute, Thycaud, was the resource person of the day. As a way of gratitude, the Principal of GCTE handed over a memento to Ms. Subathira.   
Then began the expert talk about "LETS STOP HIV TOGETHER". She explain about  HIV - the causative virus, its mutations, the available vaccines, etc with the help of powerpoint slides and white board, gave a comprehensive presentation.   Red Ribbons, the symbol of optimism and solidarity, were distributed to students. The session came to an end with the vote of thanks by Revathy, I B.Ed student. It was indeed an enlightening session for the students and teachers of GCTE.
